The Garden Resource Program Collaborative presents: 

Saturday, January 23rd, 1-3PM:
Simple Season
Extension: Cloches, Cold Frames & Hot bedsGenesis Lutheran Church, 7200

Fresh, delicious, homegrown vegetables in
the middle of winter? It’s possible, even in Michigan ! This class will cover simple
materials and techniques that can help keep your garden productive into the
winter months and get an early jump on Spring.  This class, the first
class of the 2010 Keep Growing Detroit series, will discuss simple season
extension structures and tools such as row cover, cold frames, cloches, hot
beds, and more.


Upcoming class PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE:

Thursday, January 28th 6-8PM:
Basic Carpentry 101: Cold Frames to Chicken Coops
CCNDC, 3535 Cass Ave (enter through parking lot south of Brainard and Cass)



  
The Detroit Urban Garden EducationSeries provides gardeners of all skill levels the opportunity to attend interesting, hands-on workshops on a variety of gardening and garden related topics.  The classes, open to all residents of Wayne County, have an organic gardeningemphasis and are designed for gardens that are producing food (vegetables, fruits and herbs).  Classes are held twice a month at various locations in Detroit. The cost of the class is $3 for participants in the Garden Resource Program and $5 for non-participants.
